Dr. Kelly Zaccheo, PhD
Fall 2026 Keynote Speaker
Dr. Kelly Zaccheo is currently Manager of Account and Market Development at Rockland Immunochemicals, where she works with scientists developing complex therapeutics to understand their research programs and identify the analytical tools they need at different stages of development. Her role combines scientific curiosity with problem-solving, allowing her to stay connected to emerging areas of research and identify gaps where new analytical tools could help support therapeutic development.
Kelly’s career path has been anything but traditional. She received her BS in Biomathematics and Philosophy from the University of Scranton and completed the Center for Women in Mathematics Postbaccalaureate Program at Smith College. Along the way, she spent a summer in Baseball Operations with the New York Mets, analyzing Major League Baseball data. She later earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, where her doctoral research focused on cardiovascular biology and the effects of cholesterol on endothelial cell signaling.
Having navigated the transition from academia to industry herself, Kelly is passionate about helping others explore the many career paths available to scientists. She mentors through Women In Bio (WIB) and the Association for Women in Science (AWIS), with a particular interest in supporting graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and others considering careers outside of academia. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys crocheting, lifting weights, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
